Announcing DeMo — A monthly checkup for Des Moines’ builders, designers, hackers and makers.
by Scott Kubie in Events, 12 September 2011
Picking up from April’s successful Builder’s Forum comes DeMo: a monthly checkup for Des Moines’ builders, designers, hackers and makers.
DeMo is simple:
- Demonstrate what you’re working on.
- Get feedback.
- Ask for help.
Bring whatever you’ve got.
DeMo is low-key but high-energy. No pixel-perfect pitch decks; bring whatever you’ve got: storyboards, screenshots, sketches and the like. It can be raw and rough or perfectly polished. Share with the group and see what happens. Maybe you’ll get some good honest feedback. Maybe you’ll meet a kindred spirit that wants to get involved. Heck, you might learn something just from trying to explain it in front of an audience.
Creativity + Technology
Show off your app concepts, event plans, plug-ins and widgets, hobby projects, websites, whatever…if it’s got a little bit of creativity and technology jammed up together, we’ll want to hear about it.
When and Where
Bring something to share Monday, September 19 at BitMethod HQ in downtown Des Moines. Presentation slot reservations are on-site and first-come first-serve. If I can’t get you in this month, there’s always the next — or the bar. DeMos begin at 6:30 sharp.
Signing-up
No RSVP required, but a shout-out in the comments or via Twitter (@bitmethod) would be appreciated to help me gauge interest. You can also RSVP and invite folks on Facebook.
